Vtg Collection Boxing Pictures Autographs 1920's Scrapbook Personal notes Articles 1890's early 1900's Believe these are from professor mike donovan
Here's a Great Collection of Pictures, some signed, a lot of personal details about the boxers, told these were from the grandson of Professor Mike Donovan, he was in ww2 as a boxer, and his dad was a famous boxer also . Think the collection would be worth more split up but it's just a great treasure as it sits!!! can tell he really followed the boxing world back into the late 1800's had a really good time looking up some of the boxer's history, achievements, and personal notes on each picture........ priceless to the avid collector, I bought them because my dad was a water boy back in the 1940's thought he would really enjoy them, he still has some old gloves from a couple of fighters that fought in pgh/New Kensington area..... (of course we were just dumb kids & we used to put them on & punch each other with them, couldn't figure out why he would get so mad about some old gloves.......hmmm.....nice asst of pictures, articles etc.... can only put so many pictures on here...... can forward a bunch of pictures to give a better idea of what we are selling here.
a must for the boxing enthusiast collector!!!! think the best one is the personal message written to prof Mike Donovan from Jack Obrien......
Legacy in Leather
In dusty pages, memories reside,
Of fighters with hearts full of pride.
Autographs, notes, and tales from the ring,
A scrapbook where boxers still dance and swing.
From Professor Mike Donovan’s line they came,
Fathers and sons who fought for fame.
Stories penned, a treasure passed down,
Echoes of battles, glory, renown.
Old gloves, once worn, now rest in place,
With marks of punches and grit’s embrace.
A boxing enthusiast’s dream to find—
A collection where past and present entwined.
more than welcome to pick it up at the shop in Butler Pa & save shipping.
